About Christie
Christie Marks (b. 1953, Long Beach, California, USA) creates paintings and mixed media artwork that blend crisp realism with abstract passages, incorporating visual texture that delights the eye. Inspired by memory, the beauty of age, and the intriguing chaos of life, her work focuses on subjects on the verge of disappearing.
Marks’ work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions including the de Young Open and Salon at the Triton Museum of Art. She earned a BA from California State University, Fresno, and has pursued extensive painting studies with instructors throughout the western United States. Her work has been published in Mark Makers’ Quarterly (Spring 2025) and Artists of the Bay Area, Volume 2, produced by Jen Tough Gallery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Residencies include the Green Olive Arts Residency in Tetouan, Morocco. Marks is represented by the Paul Mahder Gallery in Healdsburg, California.
